After adding the PHP License Script snippet to your web script, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you encrypt at least the file containing the licensing code. You don't necessarily need to encrypt all of your script files, but failing to encrypt the file with the licensing code will make allow users to remove the code and eliminate the protection.
There are many encryption options available to you. Depending on how many scripts you will need to encode, some options will be much more cost effective than others. While you can use any encryption program/service to encode your PHP License Script protected files, here are a few that we recommend. IonCube: If you only need to encode the occasional file or script, IonCube is a very affordable option. If you use their Online Encoder, you can safely encode your scripts for as little as $1. You can view the Online Encoder Pricing Guide to get an idea of the cost, but it is very affordable for the occasional user. For the more serious programmer, IonCube also sells full PHP encoder software starting at $199 that will allow you to encode an unlimited number of files.
Zend Guard: If you are looking for a more robust encoder, Zend Guard is also a very excellent choice. Zend Guard is widely used and is often easier to work with for the end-users of your scripts. The major downside to this software is the cost (around $600).
There are several other encryption services available, these are just the two that we have used in the past and can personally recommend. Feel free to search google for "php encryption" to find more options.
